SECRETARY SHYAM PRASAD MAINALI ALSO RESIGNS Kathmandu, 31 July: Secretary at the Public Service Commission Shyam Prasad Mainali has resigned from the post to be effective from tomorrow, expressing dissatisfaction over an appointment of the new Chief Secretary, RSS reports. Speaking at a press meet at the Commission on Tuesday, Secretary Mainali termed the appointment of new Chief Secretary an 'impractical' 'imprudent' and 'illegal' one. He claimed that the government's latest move regarding the appointment of the new Chief Secretary would negatively affect its activities in the days ahead. It may be noted that the government on Sunday had promoted Secretary Leelamani Poudel to the post of Chief Secretary as the incumbent Chief Secretary Madhav Prasad Ghimire is retiring from July 6 due to age-limit. nnnn
